I absolutely adore these humans. Kris and Kylie were one of the most incredible couples to work with, and have such a beautiful, strong love for one another. After medical hardships and ten years together, Kris and Kylie decided to elope from Seattle in the San Juan Islands. Originally, this trip to Friday Harbor to stay at Island Inn was to celebrate Kylie's 50th, but after various complications, they decided it was time to honor the union they already have. A few of their closest friends surrounded them with love and support for this beautiful day. When I arrived, the location was still up in the air as the weather was all over the place. Kylie and her best friend, the officiant, had an affinity to American Camp area. One of my favorite locations on the island is there, so they decided to let me lead them to the location. We did a little off roading to hike the mile out to the point where the stormy seas met the glacier carved cliffs of the south end of San Juan. We carried the flowers and several tables out to the point, and set up the ceremony sight overlooking the Salish Sea. The ceremony was beautiful, and intimate, and there wasn't a dry eye on that hilltop.
After the ceremony, it was time for celebration and the walk back to the car. Kris and Kylie headed over the Friday Harbor House for their reception dinner.
Thank you to Kris and Kylie for inviting me to document such a beautiful day, and trusting me to show them my favorite location. I have always wanted to photograph a wedding out there, and it did not disappoint. I believe that the stormy, beautiful day was truly the perfect backdrop to represent their strong foundation and beautiful love story.
Also, shout out to my friend Erin, at Camas Designs, for her beautiful florals!
