Last April, three local Bellingham wedding photographers, who actually know one another from our work in social services, decided to collaborate on a styled shoot. We felt like we all had unique perspectives to offer, and wanted to create something that could bring together our unique styles and styles of photography. Caylie Mash (http://www.cayliemashphotography.com/), Andrea Michelle (http://andreamichelle-photo.com/) and myself came up with a shared theme and color scheme, then each took a selection of vendors to reach out towards. We settled on doing two different locations, and using a couple, then a bridal model to give us variety for each person photographing. We did not want to have three people crowded around one person, but instead give each photographer time to shoot according to their style and methods of working with the models.
Our first location was Lairmont Manor, a beautiful historic home and wedding venue in Bellingham. We were able to stage hair and makeup there, and use the whole space for our set up! This space is absolutely incredible, and any one getting married there has a fantastic crew on board for their wedding. We worked to coordinate the space with DJ, who is fantastic at what she does there in coordinating events. Fun fact, she also got married there herself!
Our second location was near by to Lairmont, and a local favorite at Clark's Point.
Our dresses came from Alicia's Bridal, a local Bellingham store with incredible customer service and bridal accessories. Attached to their local store is the Men's Warehouse, where our male model, Taylor, borrow his amazing attire from. The jewelry featured is also from there, designed by Heidi Hull Designs.
Over the Moon Bridal is the master mind behind the beautiful wooden signs, veil, and cuff links featured. She designs and makes everything by hand!
Our make up artist extraordinaire is Jade Madison Artistry, who did an incredible job with both Sarah and Jade's makeup. We loved the natural tones, and she really highlighted their beautiful features.
Our talented hair stylist was none other than Hair By Areca, who did a fantastic job creating both hair styles from her own imagination. We didn't give her much, but she was quick to create seemless looks and incorperate the beautiful headband by Heidi Hull and the floral hair comb made by our incredibly talented flourist...
Erin Land! Erin put together such incredible pieces for this shoot. It was amazing to give everyone simple color palettes and ideas, and see what they pulled together. Erin gave us so much to work with, and I feel like the shoot would not have come together with as much elegant beauty as it did without her work showcased throughout all the different elements of this shoot.
Our event rentals was Bellingham Event Rentals, who have such a cool selection of different pieces to select. They had the perfect materials to PERFECTLY highlight the DELICIOUS contributions from our confectionery genius cake wizard...
Saltdena! Oh my goodness, her work is AMAZING. You'll want to get your own cupcakes or cakes to just get a taste of these amazing concoctions. Those cupcakes and the cake were highlighted with floral pieces from Erin.
Last, but definitely not last, our models. Sarah and Taylor were recently married, and friends of mine from university in Grand Rapids. They were so excited to model for us, and genuinely were able to convey their love. We even got to do a first look with them, where they were giddy and emotional for seeing one another all dressed up again! Even though it was a "styled" moment, it felt incredibly really. Our bridal model is Jade Adair, who has an incredible talent behind the camera, and makes a beautiful bride. I have been wanting to photograph her for awhile, and was very thankful she agreed!
